After having the week off, Mississippi State returns to the field Saturday to play its first game ever as the No. 1 team in the nation when they travel to Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats, and during that week off, the Bulldogs saw the oddsmakers at Bovada shorten their odds to 13/2 to win the national championship. The signal caller for the Maroon and White, Dak Prescott, saw his odds at the Heisman stay the same, but he did slip behind Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota who now stands as a 3/2 favorite.
Ahead of Mississippi State is Alabama, who has taken hold of 6/1 odds in the betting. Right behind the Bulldogs are Florida State (7/1) and Ole Miss and Oregon (15/2). Only 20 teams remain on the board with the rear being brought up by Arizona, Arizona State and Oklahoma at 100/1.
Only 14 players remain on the board in the betting for the Heisman trophy.
