Everyone knows that it can be lonely on top, but now the Mississippi State football team has company at No. 1 as the Mississippi State Women's Golf team now holds the top spot in the birdiefire.com rankings.
A strong fall showing pushed the Bulldogs to the No. 1 ranking. In four tournaments, Mississippi State has two championships, most recently a 24-shot win at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational, and the Bulldogs finished each event in the top-five.
Coach Ginger Brown-Lemm, at the helm of the program for five years, is the first coach to take the squad to this level. Under her leadership, there has been not only team success, but individual success, most recentky seen by All-American Ally McDonald's back-to-back individual wins at the Schooner Fall Classic and Bulldog Invitational.
With fall play complete, Mississippi State returns to action February 13-15 in the Florida State Seminole Classic.
