LaDarius Perkins went undrafted last spring after a solid career at Mississippi State, but that didn't stop his NFL dream. The Greenville native was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Green Bay Packers, and so far he is still a part of the team ahead of final cuts before the season starts.
Last night, late in the Packers big preseason victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, Perkins made the most of a familiar play for him -- the screen pass -- as he took one to the house from about 15 yards out for his first NFL touchdown. And of course as is tradition at Lambeau Field, LDP made the leap afterwards:
Perkins is currently projected to at least make the Packers' practice squad, if he isn't claimed by another team off waivers after Saturday's 3 p.m. 53-man roster cut deadline. We'll certainly be rooting to see LaDarius make a roster somewhere.
