Kendall Graveman Set for Toronto Blue Jay's Callup

Kendall Graveman, a key part to the Mississippi State run to the college world series championship in 2013, is set for a call up to the Toronto Blue Jays.

USA TODAY Sports

Kendall Graveman, the former Mississippi State Bulldog pitcher who helped lead the team to a run to the 2013 national championship series, has been called up to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Graveman, one of seven players—including Hunter Renfroe, Adam Frazier, and Chad Girardo—picked in the 2013 draft is the first of his class to reach the majors.  His rise this year has been nothing short of rapid, having started the season for Low A Lansing.

Graveman quickly earned a promotion to High A Dunedin, where he compiled an 8-4 record in 16 appearances with a 2.23 ERA.  Those stats earned him a promotion to Double A New Hampshire, where he pitched in one game before being called up to Triple A Buffalo of the International League.

In all, the eighth-round draft pick, number 235 overall in the 2013 MLB draft, has made 37 minor league appearances.

With Graveman now in the show, Bulldog fans may turn their attention to Jacob Lindgren.  The 2014 draft pick has been mentioned as a possible call up for the Blue Jays American League East opponent New York Yankees.
