Rhianwedd Price set a personal record at the Memphis Twilight on Saturday, and on Tuesday, the SEC announced her as the SEC Cross Country Women's Runner Athlete of the Week.
By picking up the award, Price became the first runner Bulldog to be named athlete of the week by the SEC since Nick Perkins snagged freshman of the week honors in 2010. Only three other women runners have claimed the award for the Bulldogs, the last being Zita Magloire in 2004.
Price, who hails from Llandrindod Wells, United Kingdom, picked up a first place finish in the Memphis Twilight's 5K event Saturday with a time of 17:05.67
Mississippi State returns to action on September 13 at the Vanderbilt Classic in Nashville.
