Mississippi State Bulldogs Hold Top-20 Raking in AP, Coaches Poll

The new polls are out, and the Bulldogs climbed in both.

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time this year, the Mississippi State Bulldogs hold a top-20 ranking in both the AP and Coaches Polls.  The Maroon and White had already checked in at No. 20 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season last week.

Mississippi State's next opponent, Alabama, checked in at No. 3 in the AP poll and at No.4 in the Coaches poll. Future foes, Ole Miss and Arkansas are both unranked.  The Razorbacks' wild win over the Rebels dropped Ole Miss from the polls.  As it stands now, only one other Mississippi State foe from 2015 carries a ranking, LSU, who checked in at No. 9 in both polls after losing to Alabama.

Mississippi State dropped a 21-19 decision to the Tigers earlier this season.
