After a few days of all signs pointing to a trip to Charlotte, it became official Sunday.

It will be a different bowl, but a familiar post season matchup, as multiple sources are reporting the Mississippi State Bulldogs will make their first appearance in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Dec. 30 when they face the North Carolina State Wolfpack at 3:30 pm ET at Bank of America Stadium.

An official announcement is expected at 5pm CT.

For Mississippi State, the game will mark the last time quarterback Dak Prescott will take the field wearing Maroon and White.  The All-SEC quarterback leaves Starkville with nearly every quarterback record for Mississippi State, and many of his totals rank near the top of several all-time SEC lists as well.

Both teams come into the bowl game with a November record of 2-2 with losses in their most high profile games of the month, including season ending rivalries.  The Bulldogs knocked off Missouri and Arkansas while losing to Alabama and Ole Miss.  The Wolfpack upended Boston College and Syracuse but dropped decisions to Florida State and North Carolina.

The Belk Bowl will mark the third different bowl game to feature Mississippi State against North Carolina State.  The teams met in the 1963 Liberty Bowl in Philadelphia, a game won by Mississippi State 16-12.  The Wolfpack returned the favor in the 1995 Peach Bowl with a 28-24 win.

The game, slated to air on ESPN, will be the only bowl game in that time slot.

Seven-time GRAMMY winner Carrie Underwood will headline the bowl's FanFest, which starts at 10:00 am. Underwood will hit the stage around 1:30pm.

2015 marks the second season of SEC affiliation with the Belk Bowl.  Georgia captured the Belk Bowl in 2014 with a 37-14 win over Louisville.
