Mississippi State and Ole Miss will square off for the 90th time in series history Monday when the Rebels travel to Starkville to face the Bulldogs in a game set for a 6pm tip.
The Bulldogs will look to return to their winning ways after dropping a contest to No. 24 Missouri in Columbia on Thursday. The loss snapped an eleven-game winning streak for Mississippi State, and it was the first SEC loss for the Bulldogs this season. Ole Miss (9-8, 1-3) enters the game on a three game SEC losing streak that has seen the Rebels lose by at least 19 points in all three losses: 76-57 at LSU, 85-65 vs. Florida, and 81-58 at Texas A&M.
The Bulldogs, who rank fourth nationally in forced turnovers with 24.2 per game, will look to turn up the pressure on an Ole Miss squad that turns the ball over 16.2 times per game.
Two expected starters for Rebels, Erika Sisk (10.8) and Shandricka Sessom (16.2) average over ten points per game. Sessom also pulls down 6.2 rebounds per contest, which is second on the team to Bretta Hart's 6.6 per contest.
For Mississippi State, Victoria Vivians leads the offense with 18 ppg, tops in the SEC. Dominique Dillingham has also averaged in double figures in SEC play with 10.5 points per SEC contest, and Morgan William has checked in with 8.9 points per game ghis season.
Overall, Ole Miss leads the series 63-26, but in the 21st century, it has been dominated by the Maroon and White as the Bulldogs have gone 23-11 since 2000, including winning the last three matchups, nine of the last eleven contests, and eight in a row in Starkville.
