We start out this week that has the potential to be one of the best closes in recent school history, Coach Mullen and his staff received some bad news last night. Zach Farrar, a 6-foot-4 WR from Southlake Carroll HS in Texas, announced after an official visit to Norman that he had flipped his commitment to Oklahoma. He was committed here to play both Baseball and Football, so this hurts more then a typical flip. On a positive note, this opens up another scholarship that Mullen and the staff have to work with going forward, but more on that in a bit.

Hours before losing Farrar, State was able to take S John Michael Hankerson from Indiana, a three-star who was a top-fifteen player in the state. You can read more on him here.
Along with the loss of Farrar, however, came a late 2016 offer which may have included a late-night unofficial visit, according to Paul Jones of 247Sports. JUCO DE/OLB Gary McCrae, who originally committed to Georgia out of high school, took an official visit to Louisville this past weekend, and they are the perceived favorites at this time.
In what was a busy weekend for the Bulldogs, a QB from Birmingham, Alabama announced on Twitter he was coming to Starkville as a preferred walk on.

Logan Burnett, who played for Bessemer Academy, is definitely someone who could end up on scholarship sooner rather then later. He is a powerful runner, and he looks to have the football IQ that just can't be taught. Improving on his accuracy is something that he will definitely be able to do while in Starkville, and with that arm strength anything is possible.
Lastly, two major targets are scheduled to announce later today. 4-Star CB Nigel Knott, a top-four cornerback nationally from nearby Germantown HS in Madison according to 247Sports, is scheduled to announce around 2:30 this afternoon. He is expected by most to pick Alabama, but that means nothing until he faxes in his National Letter of Intent. As for Reese, who is a 3-Star OG from Fort Pierce Central HS in FL, he is rated as a top-20 G in the nation according to 247Sports, and would be a huge get for the Bulldogs.
Look for a quick update on the announcement of Reese if he does indeed choose the Bulldogs later today.
