Ben Howland inked yet another signature from a commit for the loaded incoming class as he added E.J. Datcher from Vincent, Alabama to the team today. Datcher is a three star power forward standing at 6'9 and weighing in at 250 pounds.
I’m so excited to announce the signing of EJ Datcher from Vincent, Ala. Great player from a wonderful family. He has a very bright future.

For his high school career, Datcher averaged 11.6 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per game, and 3.0 blocks per game. Datcher improved statistically every year of his high school career, though his junior season was cut short due to a torn meniscus. But in the 31 games he played his senior year, Datcher averaged a double double, scoring 14.6 points per game and grabbing 10.6 rebounds per game.
The incoming class now has seven players in it, six of which are four stars. E.J. Datcher is one of three post players coming to Starkville, helping remedy the situation that plagued the Bulldogs most in year one of the Ben Howland era. The other two big men that are inked to join the team are four star centers Schnider Herard and Abdul Ado.
