After a ton of speculation and wild reports going back and forth, it seems that Malik Newman will indeed leave Starkville.
Malik Newman has asked for his release from Mississippi State and intends to transfer, sources told @CBSSports.

Confirmed: Malik Newman will transfer from Mississippi State.

Just as a reminder, Malik will have to sit out a year if he transfers to another Division 1 program, which will limit his options if he wants to play immediately.
If Malik Newman transfers to a D-1, he's a draft prospect in 2018, at best. Go D-2, maybe, find a program where he can shoot all he wants?

There will be plenty of programs calling for Malik's talent to come join them. It's just a matter of if Newman wants to sit out a year or if he wants to play as soon as possible.
He will have to sit out his Sophomore season.https://t.co/vD3GgdCrNd

We'll update you as the situation becomes clearer. As of right now, go celebrate the fact that our baseball team is a national seed for the first time in program history. Good luck to wherever you're headed, Malik.
