Sources are starting to report that Mississippi State assistant baseball coach Nick Mingione will be the next head coach at Kentucky.

Mingione just completed his 8th season as a Mississippi State assistant and recruiting coordinator, being a part of John Cohen's staff in Starkville since he became head coach. Mingione was also on John Cohen's staff at Kentucky from 2006-2007.

Mingione will be replacing Gary Henderson in Lexington, who spent eight years as head coach and compiled a 258-199 record, reaching the NCAA Tournament twice, in 2012 and 2014. Henderson resigned after missing the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.
