Go ahead and cancel your plans the evening of Friday, October 14th or move them a couple hours earlier. Mississippi State and BYU are set to kickoff at 9:15 CT and 8:15 MT when the Bulldogs head to Provo. The last time we went to Provo, all the way back in September of 2000 (I was 5 at the time), the Bulldogs won 44-28.
And so, I'm excited about playing BYU. It's a real out of conference opponent who will likely matchup with Mississippi State fairly well and make this game exciting.
That being said, I hate this kickoff time. It's late. It's very, very late. How am I supposed to do normal college stuff on a Friday evening when the game is this late? And even then, how am I supposed to get up early the next morning to watch College Gameday so I can get ready to watch more college football.
And if you don't remember the last time we had a kickoff around 9:00 pm, it was this past year with Southern Miss. From Justin Sutton's fan reaction piece after we won a fairly sloppy game:
@mstatesports Honey, start the coffee pot.

We. Were. All. So. Very. Very. Tired.
And we're likely going to be that tired again. Thanks BYU. You're keeping me up past my bedtime. I hate you for that. See you October 14th.
