The senior distance runner from Windsor, Ontario, Canada is bound for the Rio Olympics.

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

Senior Brandon McBride just took the crown in the 800 meters race in Canada and is packing his bags to represent Canada in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this August.

Brandon has had an impressive career so far for the Bulldogs including claiming a couple of national championships in the 800 meters, both indoors and outdoors, back in 2014. He's also claimed his place in the MSU record books by setting the school record for 800 meters with a time of 1:46.80 in the 2015 indoor season.

Congrats Brandon and good luck in Rio! Mississippi State will be cheering you on!
