The Mississippi State Bulldogs celebrated Senior Day Sunday Afternoon. Seniors Ariana Holmes, Sarah Hulett, and Jamila Coner had a cermony pregame and were each rewarded a frame with their jersey and celebrated with their teammates.
The Bulldogs were able to get a 2-1 win on Senior Day. Mallory Eubanks started the action for the Bulldogs as she scored the first goal to get the early 1-0 lead. UL Lafayette however scored a late first half goal to tie up the game 1-1 at halftime.
The Bulldogs were able to end the game on a positive note this time. Senior Jamila Coner opened up the Second Half with her first career goal with an assist from Eubanks.
"I really wanted to work hard and have a good game.” Coner said. “I knew Mallory would give me that cross, so I just thought 'I have to get to the front post.' She dropped it in and I just poked it in. This was the best Senior Day I could have ever imagined."
The Senior capped up an awesome day for MSU as the Bulldogs improve their record to 5-3 on the year. Mississippi State will host Vanderbilt next Sunday at 2 pm ct. The game can be seen on ESPNU.
