POLL: Biggest Concern Going Forward

Now that we know Nick Fitzgerald is locked in at quarterback, what is your biggest concern about the football team?

NCAA Football: South Carolina at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Talented but flawed. That’s the best way I can think to describe the Bulldog football season. There is a lot of talent on this team, but the youth leaves a lot of flaws to be exposed. In a season that was full of questions as it began, we at least know the answer to one of them.

Nick Fitzgerald is the quarterback for the Mississippi St. Bulldogs. I think it is pretty safe to assume he will continue in that role so long as he doesn’t have a major meltdown at any point this season.

But there are still plenty of questions to answer. Is there any hope to Dan Mullen not running Brandon Holloway up the middle repeatedly? Will we ever find someone to play the cornerback position opposite Lashard Durr? And that’s just a small sample.

This team will win its fair share of ballgames, but if they are going to pull an upset or two and get the win they gave up to South Alabama back, it will take finding an answer to some of the concerns we still have about this team from this point forward.

These are the areas where I think the Bulldogs need to be most concerned. Maybe you aren’t as concerned as I am, but I think there are issues.

  1. Holloway repeatedly being run up the middle
  2. Consistent play at the corner besides Durr
  3. Graves making a field goal to win a game
  4. Fining a receiving threat outside Ross and Gray.
  5. Being outscored 35-6 in the second half.

Or maybe you have a bigger concern going forward than the list I gave. You can vote for that as well, though I would love for you to tell us what you think it is. Vote in our poll and let us know why you chose what you did.
