All SEC teams are about to be out of the starting gate in conference play. The Western Division has three key head to head match-ups that will begin to separate the contenders from the pretenders.

The LSU Tigers are the next team rising on State’s radar. It is a safe bet that the game will be a war in the trenches which State must win and do have the beef to do just that. A.J. Jefferson, Jeffrey Simmons, Nick James, Nelson Adams, Braxton Hoyett and company will try to harass the backfield of LSU all night while minimizing running lanes. Nick Fitzgerald must get more of his supporting cast involved in his Voo Doo schemes for the Bengal Tigers. I don’t see either team winning all the battles but hopefully we can win the war though and leave Baton Rouge with a huge SEC win. I personally have a lot of respect for Les Miles the man but wouldn’t it be nice to see him eating grass again. Good Guys 29 Purple People 21

Auburn is trying to get the “Gus Bus” finely tuned before they come calling in Starkville soon. This week they host another of the future SEC teams on our schedule, Texas A&M. I can’t see how Auburn is favored by 4 points unless a lot of “home cooking” is forecast to befuddle the Aggies. I see that bus hitting a rocky road this week and limping badly. Aggies 37 Gus Bus 20

The Crimson Tide makes camp in Oxford Saturday and has their mind on some serious payback having lost two straight to TSUN. I think there will be Rebels left laying all over the battlefield by the time the final whistle blows and Saban enjoys a cigar on the bus ride back to Tuscaloosa. Elephants 34 Black Bears 17

Bert Bielema is trying to feed his herd of HOGS to get them ready to compete in the SEC West. He throws Texas St. into the pen with his boys this week. The feeding and squealing should start immediately. Arkansas 38-16.

When all is said and done I don’t think anyone will be knocked off their horse completely but a couple of horses will begin to feel the life being squeezed out of them. I have to believe in our Bulldogs to get the job done at least for now. Beating LSU will give our youngsters so much SWAG.
