They call her “itty bitty”, but the 5’5” senior guard plays a foot higher. Morgan William is a catalyst and proven leader on both ends of the floor, as she is once again owning March. The stage was hers vs Oklahoma State and she put on a show and a half. With 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists, William carried the Bulldogs on her back, and wouldn’t let anyone or anything get in her way.

William is averaging 7.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on the year. She is also shooting 85 percent from the line, as William is most reliable in closing moments. William’s vision and quickness are a headache for the opposition, as she can get through the lane at will.

While she may not be a specialist from distance, William can create her own shot. She is gifted as a passer and facilitator, able to run the offense like a true point guard. A point guard is essential in today’s game, and William amongst the best.

William has 27 steals thus far in her senior campaign and is a mastermind on defense. She will match up with anybody and stay on them like glue. William is not a risk taker, but will create turnovers that result in points on the other end. Whether that be her driving in for a layup or finding teammates, William’s defensive toughness can change a game at any given moment.

William has proven that size is not an issue, to the point where smaller may be better. She epitomizes the Mississippi State mindset, and has taken it to another level in March. The Madness is a special time, and William is well aware. She has and will continue to alter the tournament.

She has stamina and the heart of a lion. It was on full display against UCONN, and will be on full display against NC State. When the stage is bigger and the lights are brighter, William is nothing short of sensational, as she is sure to put NC State on their heels.
