Pops/Son Pick ‘Em Challenge: SEC Week 4

Managing Editor, Landon Young, collaborates with his father, Gerald Young, on this week’s SEC pick ‘em challenge.

On Saturday’s newest segment, managing editor, Landon Young, does this week’s Southeastern Conference pick ‘em challenge with his father, Gerald Young.

My father is the reason I am so crazy about Mississippi State sports. He brought me home from the hospital when I was born in a No. 1 Mississippi State jersey. Growing up, we woke up early every Saturday and watched ESPN’s College GameDay together while drinking some fresh coffee. This week’s cover picture was taken with the 2019 egg bowl trophy. Every week, I call him before Saturday and we discuss who will win this Saturday inside the SEC. We will discuss betting lines, close games and winners each week.

Let’s PICK ‘EM:

Auburn (-3) at South Carolina

Pops: I’m taking South Carolina in this one. Risky, but I’m feelin’ it.

Son: I’ll take Auburn to win and cover.

Kentucky at Tennessee (-6)

Pops: Tennessee wins and covers. I wasn’t impressed with Kentucky’s offense last week.

Son: I’m taking the same as pops.

Ole Miss (-1.5) at Arkansas

Pops: Ole Miss wins and covers. They will be able to score at will on opponents this season.

Son: I’m taking the same as pops.

Texas A&M (-6.5) at Mississippi State

Pops: MSU bounces back this week. I’m taking MSU to cover the -6.5. Hard for me to pick us to win, but I’ll take Mississippi State to upset the Aggies today.

Son: I am now a Texas resident. I don’t want to lose to the Aggies today with this being my first weekend in Texas. I’m picking the Dawgs to bounce back and pull this one off in Starkville.

Georgia at Alabama (-6)

Pops: Bama rolls. I’m picking Alabama to win and cover.

Son: I’m taking the same as pops.
