Pops/Son Pick ‘Em Challenge: SEC Week 6

Managing Editor, Landon Young, collaborates with his father, Gerald Young, on this week’s SEC pick ‘em challenge.

On Saturday’s newest segment, managing editor, Landon Young, does this week’s Southeastern Conference pick ‘em challenge with his father, Gerald Young.

My father is the reason I am so crazy about Mississippi State sports. He brought me home from the hospital when I was born in a No. 1 Mississippi State jersey. Growing up, we woke up early every Saturday and watched ESPN College GameDay together while drinking some fresh coffee. This week’s cover picture was taken right before I graduated from Mississippi State in 2019. Every week, I call him before Saturday and we discuss who will win this Saturday inside the SEC. We will discuss betting lines, close games and winners each week.

Let’s PICK ‘EM:

Georgia (-15.5) at Kentucky

Pops: I like Georgia to cover in this one. After the Tennessee game, I was not very impressed with Kentucky.

Son: This one is tough to me because it’s in Kentucky, but I’ll play it safe and take Georgia to cover.

LSU (-3) at Auburn

Pops: LSU covers the -3. Auburn shouldn’t have beaten Ole Miss and LSU looked good with a fresh QB in last week.

Son: I’ll take LSU to cover as well. I don’t see Auburn being able to do a whole lot against the LSU Tigers.

Ole Miss (-16.5) at Vanderbilt

Pops: VANDY COVERS! I went for Ole Miss last weekend, but not today!

Son: I’ll actually take Ole Miss to cover in this one. I think the Lane Train will put up some numbers today against Vandy.

Mississippi State at Alabama (-30.5)

Pops: I’m taking the Mississippi State Bulldogs to cover in this one. Why? I’m not sure.

Son: 30 points...Whew... I say Mississippi State’s defense doesn’t allow that to happen. I’m taking the Bulldogs to cover.

Arkansas at Texas A&M (-12)

Pops: The Arkansas Razorbacks cover in this one. Texas A&M hasn’t impressed me up to this point.

Son: I’ll take the Razorbacks to cover the 12 points as well. I enjoy watching Arkansas play for the first time in years.

Missouri at Florida (-13)

Pops: Dang, this is the hardest line of the week to me. Give me Mizzou to cover.

Son: I agree that this is the toughest pick of the week, but GATOR CHOMP. Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators cover the 13 points.
