The one player in the 2020 recruiting class that I am looking forward to see put on the Mississippi State jersey is Lideatrick Griffin. Griffin was going to be target for the Bulldogs’ quarterbacks before Mike Leach came to Starkville, now I cannot wait to see what the young man will accomplish in Leach’s system.
Griffin was rated a four-star prospect by most recruiting services and has been a dynamic player on both sides of the ball. During his high school career, Griffin caught 70 passes and racked up 1,181 yards receiving to go along with catching six touchdown passes. The Philadelphia Tornadoes made Griffin a go to receiver and a game breaking type of player.
Griffin will have a chance to learn from a deep wide receiving corps. JaVonta Payton, Osirus Mitchell, and Dontea Jones will all be returning and people that Griffin can learn from as they all learn the Mike Leach system. I am very interested to see what Griffin will do during the summer practices. Mississippi State has the talent in the receiving corps to make opposing defensive coordinators have a few sleepless nights, throughout the course of the season.
Over the next few weeks, I will start looking at the 2021 recruits that the Bulldogs have offered and the ones that have placed verbal commitments. I will continue to break down the 2020 recruiting class as well. Talk to you folks, during the weekend and enjoy the baseball season and the SEC Tournament.
