No. 4 Mississippi State baseball welcomes Eastern Michigan for 3-game series

Friday’s first pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT.

STARKVILLE, Miss. — The No. 4 Mississippi State baseball team is slated to host the Eastern Michigan Eagles for a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Dudy Noble Field.

The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and will conclude with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday. All three games can be watched on SEC Network+.

The Bulldogs (10-3, 0-0 SEC) have scored 27 runs in their last three games to support a pitching staff that has not allowed a single run over that span. MSU’s three-game shutout streak started with a 13-0 no-hit win over Kent State on Sunday before defeating Grambling State 10-0 and Louisiana-Lafayette 4-0 on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

The MSU offense is batting .278 as a team and is led by senior Tanner Allen with a .320 batting average to go with 16 runs scored and 13 RBIs. Sophomore Kamren James is batting .269 with a team-high 14 RBIs and four home runs.

Eastern Michigan (4-2, 0-0 MAC) is led by freshman Mark Kattula with a .409 batting average to go with five runs and two RBIs. Graduate student Jeff Timko is batting .182 and has produced a team-high six RBIs.

The Eagle pitching staff has a .257 batting average against and has struck out 45 batters in 49 ¹⁄₃ innings. Right-handed graduate student Davis Feldman has made two starts on the mound and owns a 2-0 record with 10 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.

The weekend series marks the first time MSU has faced Eastern Michigan on the diamond.
