NCAA Basketball: SEC Conference Tournament-Mississippi State vs Kentucky Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are coming off their first win against Kentucky since 2009. The Bulldogs have pushed through the second round of the tournament and will compete in today's quarterfinal round. Mississippi State looked like an extraordinary basketball team in yesterday’s first half. The Bulldogs found their rhythm inside the paint, with Abdul Ado dominating the UK post players. The second half was a different story. The Bulldogs could not find a bucket inside the paint. The second half was mainly led by guard, Iverson Molinar who led the team in scoring with 21 points.

Today, the Bulldogs face off against the best team in the SEC, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama is ranked #6 coming into today’s quarterfinal matchup. This will be their first game of the SEC tournament due to being the number one seed of the tournament. The Crimson Tide has an overall record of 21-6 with an outstanding 16-2 conference record. Alabama has already locked a spot in the NCAA Tournament but looks to compete for the SEC championship.
