MSU's red hot recruiting week took a bit of a hit Friday as Armani Linton and Jay Johnson changed their commitments from MSU to Ole Miss, but Saturday night the Bulldogs got word that would spin the week back on the positive side of things. Late Saturday night, Bulldog Blitz's Robbie Faulk broke the news that 4-star Murrah athlete Malik Dear had committed to play for the Bulldogs.
Dear, who is considered by most to be a top five prospect in the state for 2015, has been considered by recruitniks for some time now to be an MSU lean, and he made that official on Saturday by giving a verbal commitment. His commitment gives MSU 16 for the class of 2015.
I'll post more notes and highlights on Malik once I get back to a computer. Just know for now that Dear's commitment is a big one for the Bulldogs, even if signing day is still eight months away.
Also of note - we missed one commitment in recent days, offensive lineman Harrison Moon. Moon is friends with recent pledge Nick Tiano. More on him too when we get a chance.
