The Mississippi State Bulldogs put together a solid recruiting class, during the 2020 recruiting period and we have been looking at each member of the class. Emmanuel Forbes is the new Bulldog that we will feature today. Forbes is the first defensive member of the 2020 recruiting class that this series will look at.
Forbes will give the Bulldogs a big cornerback to go against the athletic wide receivers in the SEC. Forbes is 6’2” and 163 lbs, so wide receivers will have a tough time trying to out muscle Forbes. Forbes is out of Grenada, and he had a stellar high school career for the Chargers. Forbes was a playmaker on both sides of the ball for Grenada. On the offensive side of the ball, Forbes racked up 31 receptions for 499 yards and seven touchdowns. Forbes’ efforts on the offensive side of the ball helped guide the Chargers to a 7-5 record on the season.
The defensive side of the ball is where Forbes will get an opportunity to shine for the Bulldogs. Over the past two years, Forbes has filled up the stat sheet on the defensive side of the ball. During the 2019 season, Forbes racked up 43 tackles and had four interceptions for Grenada. The size and playmaking ability on the defensive side of the ball will be valuable for the Mississippi State defense. Forbes has the potential to be a lockdown corner and he should compete for playing time early in his career in Starkville.
