The Numbers Game - Breakin' Records

There are some Dawgs who have a chance to break records this year.

*All projections include a bowl game since MSU is already bowl eligible and bowl stats count towards season stats.

Johnthan Banks - career INT record. He has 15 so far, just one more will tie Walt Harris for most all-time. Banks has three so far this year.

Tyler Russell - single season TD passes. Record is 16 held by Derrick Taite in 1995, Russell has 12 right now. On pace for 26.

Tyler Russell - single season passing yards. Record is 2,422 by Dave Marler in 1978. Russell has 1,382. On pace for 2,944.

Chad Bumphis - single season receiving yards. Record is 1,035 by Mardye McDole in 1978. Bumphis has 468 this year. On pace for 1,014.

Chad Bumphis - single season receiving touchdowns. Record is 9 by Justin Jenkins in 2003. Bump has six so far this year, on pace for 13.

Chad Bumphis - career receiving yards. Record is 2,214 by Mardye McDole. He currently has 1,816, so he needs to average 57 yards per game the rest of the way to break it - he is averaging 78 YPG this year.

Chad Bumphis - career receptions. Record is 162 by David Smith. He currently has 129, needs to average 4.71 catches a game to break it - he is averaging 4.67 this year.

Chad Bumphis - already broken the career receiving touchdowns record with 18 and counting.

LaDarius Perkins - single season rushing yards. Record is 1,391 by Anthony Dixon in 2009. Perk is on pace for 1,300 this year.
