Mississippi / Alabama High School All Star Game Rosters finalized, includes several MSU commits

Alabama announced their all-stars last week and today the Mississippi rosters were announced for the MS/AL all-star game set for December 15th in Mobile.

Spruce Derden-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Today the Mississippi rosters were announced for the annual MS/AL all-star game. As you could imagine, it was scattered with Mississippi State commitments.

The team will include nine MSU commitments. They are:

1. Kailo Moore - a running back from West Bolivar

2. Scott Austin - a receiver from Biloxi

3. Kent Flowers - an offensive lineman from Hollandale-Simmons

4. Deon Mix - an offensive lineman from South Panola

5. Jake Thomas - an offensive lineman from Columbus

6. Chris Jones - a defensive end from Houston

7. Tyre'oune Holmes - a receiver/defensive back from Tylertown(will play DB in the game).

8. Gabe Myles - a defensive back from Starkville

9. Brandon Wells - a defensive from Bogue Chitto

Seven of these commitments that made the game were also selected as Dandy Dozen by the Clarion Ledger. MSU had the most commitments on the roster of any team. Southern Miss had four, and Ole Miss and South Alabama each had one.

MSU also has a few targets that were selected to the game. They are:

1. Parker Adamson - a quarterback from Oxford.

2. Ashton Shumpert - a running back/line backer from Itawamba (will play running back in the game).

3. David Mahaffey - an offensive lineman from Brandon

4. Dylan Bradley - a defensive lineman from Noxubee County

5. Stacey Garner - a linebacker from Forrest County

6. Tayler Polk - a linebacker from Brandon

7. Tony Conner - a defensive back from South Panola

Not all of those prospects have an offer, but might get a look down the road. The prospects listed that MSU is in hot pursuit of are Tony Conner and Ashton Shumpert. Ole Miss is believed to be the leader for Conner, while MSU might have a slight lead for Shumpert's services.

Last week the Alabama rosters were announced and the lone MSU commitment on the roster was defensive lineman from Trent Simpson from Oxford (Alabama, that is).

The Bernard Blackwell rosters were also released today as well. This game puts South Mississippi against North Mississippi. MSU had no commitments announced for that game (not a bad thing necessarily), but a few names to keep an eye on. Athlete Khaderal Hodge from Mendenhall and tight end Stanley Higgins from Starkville. Also, not necessarily guys who will get an offer, but you might hear from down the road. Hodge plays quarterback on the high school level, but possesses the skills to play receiver or defensive back on the next level. So far, Hodge has not backed off his stance of wanting to play quarterback at the next level, even if it has to be at a lower level.
