HOLE-IN-THE-WALL: Dave's, as known to most around the 'Vegas area, is definitely one-of-a-kind. As the website and shirts brag, they have been "continuing education since 1995." Be careful: If you turn at Glenn Hollow Apartments on Old West Point Road, you have turned too early, and if you get to Rick's Cafe, you have gone way too far. This venue is located directly beside the Regal Inn off Highway 182. It is very possible to miss it even during the daylight. It is truly the place to go to kick back, relax, devour some delicious pizza and/or gyros, and listen to some, sometimes, interesting bands from around the talented Golden Triangle area. FYI: Dave's celebrates Service Industry Night/Twitter Tuesday with drink specials and giveaways on their Twitter, as well as Trivia Bash on Wednesdays.

MENU: Pizza is definitely the speciality. Their website brags that they are Starkville's oldest independent pizzeria. Their Chicago style and hand-tossed New York style pizzas are like nothing you will taste in our region. Specific pizzas you might want to try include The Capone (pepperoni, Italian sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms), Dog Bite (ground beef, Canadian bacon, pep, and Italian sausage) or Apollo (grilled lamb, green peppers, onions, feta and mozzarella with cucumber sauce). Their pizza options are somewhat endless. Go crazy with it. If you are up for some wings, you have come to the right place. Wings come in seven varieties; classic, hot, lemon pepper, tangy BBQ, cajun, greek, or sweet and spicy. Mix and match. Burgers will not disappoint... The Don Corleone (two patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo) is an animal. And then there's the gyros, best ones north of Jackson. The Traditional (grilled lamb and feta with sautéed peppers and onions) gyro is the most popular. If all else fails, their calzones will keep you coming back. The personal calzone gives you two choices of regular pizza toppings stuffed in a stone-baked calzone shell. So yum.
