Dogs grab commitment from Gadsden HS (AL) WR B.J. Hammond

Mississippi State picked up its 3rd commitment of the 2013 football class today, landing a verbal from Gadsden City HS (AL) WR B.J. Hammond.

Hammond, a 6'4" 210 lb, 3* (24/7) wide receiver is a big pick up for MSU, both literally and figuratively, as he has the build to be a possession receiver in the shades of Bulldog youngester Joe Morrow.

According to Bulldogs24/7, Hammond also claimed offers from LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Southern Miss among others.

Hammond also holds a 3* rating from Rivals, 4* from ESPN, and 3* from Scout.

Here's some highlights on B.J.:

Quick Analysis on the Commit:

With 5 senior wide receivers departing after the 2012 season, this is certainly a huge get for State. Hammond has the body to be a great possession receiver, and that's something the offense has lacked under Dan Mullen (up to having Joe Morrow this upcoming year). B.J. holds some other very nice offers, so it's good to get this kid from the likes of LSU and Auburn. A long way until national signing day with these early commitments, but you have to feel positive about any commit that says that MSU "feels like home."

Hammond joins Brandon Wells and Devante Scott as Bulldog commitments for the class of 2013.
