As we still await word on Deshea Townsend's decision on MSU's vacant defensive back coaching position, it appears the other primary candidate has removed himself from MSU's list.
Bulldawgs 247 reports this morning that Nebraska defensive backs coach Terry Joseph will remain in Lincoln.

Joseph reportedly was on State's radar as recently as yesterday to replace departed defensive backs coach Melvin Smith. It appears, however, that Joseph and the Cornhuskers reached an agreement for him to stay there, seemingly leaving MSU's list of candidates squarely at one.
There have been rumors and reports that a hiring could be announced as soon as today for the open position, but it is unclear at this time if that will in fact take place.
The dead period for college football recruiting ends tonight, so MSU understandably would like to have a coach in place by then, if at all possible
