MRA OL Sean Rawlings to decide between MSU and Ole Miss this week

Rawlings, who received his official offer from the Rebels just a few days ago, will decide between MSU and OM this week.

Just a few weeks ago, MRA offensive lineman Sean Rawlings seemed destined to be headed to Starkville next fall as a part of MSU's 2014 class.  After this weekend, however, quite a bit has changed in Rawlings' world, and the big lineman seems like he will be headed to Oxford instead.

Rawlings, an MSU commit since October, announced earlier in the week that he would take an official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend.  When that news came out, it was all but assured that a scholarship offer would soon follow, and it did on Friday.  With Sean reportedly growing up an Ole Miss fan in an Ole Miss family, it's understandable that he would at least take a visit to Oxford once he got the invitation and offer.  Now, following that visit, it looks likely that he will be in red and blue next fall.

While Sean has yet to officially announce a change in his commitment, he did tell multiple recruiting outlets including the Clarion-Ledger that he would announce a final decision sometime this week.  With signs pointing to Sean and MSU parting ways soon, all State fans can do is wish him the best of luck in Oxford.

As for replacing Rawlings' spot should he choose to go elsewhere, State could look at a number of other potential candidates.  MSU hosted Birmingham OL Bunchy Stallings this past weekend, and with the visit reportedly going well ($), State hopes to add him to the class for 2014.  Another candidate for that spot is Jordan Sims, who visited two weekends ago, but Sims recently visited and named Ole Miss his leader, making MSU's chances with him a long shot.

With signing day just over a week away, we should know soon who will be added to and who will leave MSU's 2014 class to round it out.
