A few Mississippi State notes for your early morning chats with your coworkers:

Could Geoff Collins be on Georgia's list of candidates for defensive coordinator? Jon Cooper at Saturday Down South wrote that it was a possibility, and he joined the Daily Grind to explain the situation a bit more.  He brought a up few points listing Collins's connections to the State of Georgia, Nick Saban, and Kirby Smart.

Both the men's and women's track squads rank in the top-15 in the country according to the latest rankings released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  On the men's side, were the Bulldogs rank eleventh, the SEC has five ranked teams.  On the women's side, Mississippi State holds the No. 15 ranking and stands in the top-15 with seven other SEC schools.

ESPN reviewed the SEC Bowl games, and Edward Aschoff and Chris Low gave the Bulldogs the award for best team effort in a bowl. The duo noted the play of the Bulldogs to qualify for a bowl along with the throttling of Rice in the Liberty Bowl.
