Coming of a solid 2013 campaign, the Mississippi State men's tennis team has started 2014 the right way, picking up four wins in their first four matches of the season and earning the No. 10 ranking in the country in the process. This weekend, the Bulldogs will head west to Lubbock, Texas, to face off against No. 53 Texas Tech Friday at 2 p.m. before facing Rice Saturday at noon.

So far in the 2014 campaign, the Bulldogs have picked up victories over No. 26 Harvard (4-3) and No. 21 Memphis (4-2) to go along with 7-0 wins over Jackson State and Alabama State.

SEC player of the week Jordan Angus will try to continue his hot play that has seen him start his season at 4-0 with wins over two nationally ranked opponents. Newcomer Florian Lakat, a freshman from Paris and a top-ten French junior player, has also started strongly, going 3-1 in the No. 1 singles position.  Another freshman, India's Rishab Agarwal, has also bolted out to a 3-1 start on the season.

After completing play in the Lone Star State, the Bulldogs will return home to face Samford and Alcorn State on Feb. 9.
