Mississippi State has opened as a 3-point underdog to the Auburn Tigers for next Saturday's SEC West showdown in Starkville, according to Wynn:
Auburn opens up a 3-point favorite over Miss State at the Wynn. Texas A&M listed as a 1.5-point fav over Ole Miss.

The Tigers and Bulldogs will square off in the highest-ranked matchup of two teams this season in a game that will further shape the SEC West race. Mississippi State is coming off of a big 48-31 win over Texas A&M at home, while the Tigers easily handled LSU 41-7 at home on Saturday night. Both teams will head into next Saturday at 5-0.
After being a bit surprised at how low the line opened last week in State's favor -- MSU opened as a 1-point dog and the line pushed to -2.5 MSU by kickoff -- I'm just as surprised that the Bulldogs are as much of a dog this week as they are. Auburn is the higher rated team, and the Tigers have been in or near the top-5 nearly all season, so I guess I see the separation in teams at the opening. Still, I would not be surprised to see this line shift in MSU's favor like it did versus Texas A&M last weekend.
The Bulldogs and Tigers will kick off week seven of the 2014 season on Saturday (2:30 p.m. CT) in a game that will be televised by CBS. The Bulldogs are also hosting ESPN's College Gameday pregame show for the first time ever on Saturday.
Here are a few other lines of note for week three of the 2014 college football season:
Oregon listed as a 3.5-point fav over UCLA. USC also a 3.5-point fav over Arizona at the Wynn.
