Dak Prescott, Mississippi State See Odds Improve for Heisman, National Championship

Dak Prescott and the Mississippi State Bulldogs continue to climb up the ladder in the betting odds for the Heisman Trophy and the National Championship.

Heading into the season, most considered Dak Prescott little more than a dark horse Heisman candidate for a Mississippi State team struggling to make a name for itself in the SEC West.  According to the latest odds from Bovada, the betting opinions on both Prescott and the Bulldogs have changed drastically.

Just one week ago, the Bulldogs stood as 33/1 favorites to win the national championship, however today, those odds had improved to 16/1. Both are much improved from the 150/1 odds given the Bulldogs when the season began.

The same can be said for Prescott, as the quarterback has seen his odds drastically improve in the Heisman race. Prescott, who was not even on the board in January, ended up finishing the summer as a 50/1 pick to win the trophy after his name started coming up over the summer.  After leading the Bulldogs to five consecutive games of over 500 yards of offense and knocking of two top-15 foes in the SEC, Prescott at 5/2 odds only trails Todd Gurley who stands at 8/5.

Only 18 players remain on the board when it comes to betting for the Heisman, and only 26 teams still remain on the board for the national championship.
