Fresh off of a victory over No. 16 West Virginia and then Western Kentucky to claim the Preseason WNIT championship, the Mississippi State Bulldogs have climbed into the top-25 of the AP Poll with a ranking of No. 25.

The rankings show just how difficult the SEC can be for women's basketball as six teams, four of whom are in the top-ten, hold a spot in the poll: No. 1 South Carolina, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 22 Georgia, and the Bulldogs.

In the "only-in-polls" moment of the week, West Virginia, the team the Bulldogs beat in the semifinals, holds the No. 24 spot, one place ahead of Mississippi State.

In individual honors, Victoria Vivians became the second Mississippi State player this year to win SEC Freshman of the Week honors. The freshman from Carthage, Mississippi, earned the MVP Award for the Preseason WNIT by turning in game-changing performances against West Virginia and Western Kentucky.

Last week, Vivians's teammate, Morgan Wiliam, won the award.
