For the first time this season the Bulldogs found themselves on the wrong side of a sloppy contest, losing to the Horned Frogs of TCU in Corpus Christi.
Following their best shooting performance of the season against St. Louis, Mississippi State just could not get the ball through the hoop, shooting for a season low 37%. While TCU did not dominate the game offensively, they shot significantly better from the floor, hitting on close to 50% of their shots.
The Bulldogs had a chance to get back in the game in the closing minutes, but free throws, which had been a strength for the team, just would not go down in the second half. The team shot for a season low at the charity stripe, 55%.
After hitting a season high 8 three pointers in the win against St. Louis, Mississippi State only hit on three of their attempts against TCU. Along with the poor shooting performance in the game, Mississippi State was out rebounded by their opponent for the first time this season, with the Horned Frogs collecting 36 rebounds to MSU's 33.
Luckily, Coach Rick Ray will have some time to regroup, as the team will have a week off before their next game against Tulane of the AAC.
Next Game: Saturday December 6th @ Tulane, 1PM CST
