Mississippi State vs. Texas A&M; Opening Odds: Aggies open as a 1-point favorite

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Mississippi State opens as a 1-point underdog to the Aggies for next weekend's all-maroon showdown in Starkville (11 a.m., ESPN).

Mississippi State has opened as a 1-point underdog to the Texas A&M; Aggies for next Saturday's SEC West showdown in Starkville, according to Wynn:

The game comes on the heels of an off week for the Bulldogs following a big 34-29 win over LSU two weeks ago, while the Aggies are coming off of a 35-28 win over Arkansas in Dallas yesterday.

I went on the record as saying that I thought this game would open at -6 A&M;, so I was obviously giving the Aggies more credit than oddsmakers are, at least so far.  It will be interesting to see how this line fluctuates throughout the week.  The 5-0 Aggies remained at #6 in this week's AP Poll following their win over the Hogs.

The Bulldogs and Aggies will kick off week five of the 2014 season on Saturday (11:00 a.m. CT) on ESPN.

Here are a few other lines of note for week three of the 2014 college football season:
