Article: Dan Mullen should be considered as a replacement at Southern California
Southern California had an opportunity to hire a coach with Mississippi ties the last time the school made a midseason coaching change. The Trojans eventually passed on making then interim Head Coach Ed Orgeron, with a 6-2 record, the permanent head coach.
Instead, Southern California opted to hire Steve Sarkisian. The Trojans let Sarkisian go this week. Could Southern California look to the Magnolia State this time?
As with any head coaching vacancy, attention immediately shifts to whom may take over the top spot. According to the USA Today article above, Dan Mullen should be considered for the spot.
While it seems unlikely that Mullen would head west, it will be interesting to see if there are any sleepless nights in Starkville as the process plays out.
