Mississippi State returns to SEC action this weekend with a 6:30 game against the Kentucky Wildcats in Starkville, and if the opening odds are any indication, Bulldog fans should be able to go to bed happy when its over with the Bulldogs opening as 11.5-point favorites over the visitors.
So far on the season, the Bulldogs are only 2-4 against the spread in games against FBS opponents. The Wildcats may not win every game on the field, but they have been solid against the spread, going 4-3.
The two teams met last year in Lexington, and the Bulldogs, who took the field for the first time in program history as the No. 1 team in the nation, left Commonwealth Stadium with a 45-31 win. The final margin was padded by this Turtle Holmes touchdown.
