Officers suspected the smell of marijuana when a vehicle filled with four individuals, one of those Mississippi State receiver De'Runnya Wilson, was pulled over for speeding around 9 PM Friday night, WSFA in Birmingham first reported.
A K-9 unit was called to the traffic stop and De'Runnya Wilson, Artis Cleveland, Keith Middleton, and Isaiah Maston were charged with second degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked in the Covington County Jail according to the River Falls police department.
The police chief also stated that "all four occupants inside the vehicle admitted they couldn't pass a drug test."
The group was reportedly traveling to a friends' birthday party when they were stopped.
No word has emerged as to the possible punishment for Wilson and no information has been released on when he will be due in court to face the charges.
Wilson was the Bulldogs' leading receiver in 2014 with 680 yards and 9 touchdowns.
