It had been speculated that Ray's job might be in jeopardy after the Bulldogs limped to a 13-19 record in his third season as the head basketball coach at Mississippi State that ended with a 74-68 loss to Auburn in the SEC Tournament on March 11th.
Ray, who was hired in 2012 from Clemson where he was an assistant coach, amassed a record of 37-60 in three years with the program.
