Maroon Weather Forecast: SBW

Champ is looking good to pass off the harness to Jak! - Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

Make sure you have your umbrellas handy for a soggy Super Bulldog Weekend!

Super Bulldog Weekend is around the corner with Bulldog baseball, softball, and football in action this weekend in Starkvegas! It unfortunately will be a soggy weekend for popcorn-eating, pig-roasting, Cotton District Arts Festival-hopping and all of the other amazing things happening on campus this weekend.

Friday, April 17

8:00 a.m.: Pig Cooking Begins (behind McArthur Hall)
4:00 p.m.: Pig Cooking - Mississippi Pork Producers Sampling of the Grill (McArthur Hall - at corner of Barr & Collegeview)
5:30 p.m.: Softball vs. Tennessee (MSU Softball Field)
6:30 p.m.: Baseball vs. Florida (Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium)

A chance of thunderstorms is likely to rain on the beginning of SBW. High temperatures will be around the low to mid 70s by the beginning of the pig roast and will linger down to the low 60s by the end of the baseball festivities. A light wind from the south is likely to bring a warm breeze throughout both games and it’s going to bring the rain from the Gulf along with it. It’s not going to be too soggy on Friday night, but it’s enough to bring a poncho just in case.

Saturday, April 18

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Cotton District Arts Festival
9:00 a.m. - Noon: Pig Cooking Judging (behind McArthur Hall)
11:00 a.m.: Pig Cooking - Mississippi Pork Producers Sampling of the Grill (McArthur Hall - at corner of Barr & Collegeview)
11:00 a.m.: Maroon/White Spring Football Game (Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field)
2:00 p.m.: Baseball vs. Florida (Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium)
6:00 p.m.: Softball vs. Tennessee (MSU Softball Field)

It will be a soggy Saturday in Starkville. The best time to go the Cotton District Arts Festival and the Pig Roast will be early in the morning due to lower chances of rain from 8 AM-12 PM. It’s looking like the Maroon/White game will see some showers by the end of the battle on the gridiron. Make sure to have that poncho in your pocket if you go see Champ pass the harness to Bully XXI, Jak! The potential for thunderstorms increases as the afternoon and evening moves along. High temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 70s and the moist Gulf air will keep the temperature in the 70s throughout the afternoon and evening. Winds will be from the south and light, but make sure to go indoors if you hear that thunder roar.

Sunday, April 19

1:00 p.m.: Softball vs. Tennessee (MSU Softball Field)
2:00 p.m.: Baseball vs. Florida (Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium)

Rain is still in the forecast for Sunday’s baseball and softball games. The rain won’t be as heavy, but a light raincoat is definitely a good idea if you’re going to be watching a game on the diamond. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s on Sunday afternoon and will see a light wind coming from the south.

Do your best to stay dry while cheering for the Maroon and White. Make sure to follow @SincoffWx for your Starkville forecast during Super Bulldog Weekend! Hail State!
