After surprising many by declaring for the NFL draft after his junior season, Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson appeared to some to be in danger of not having his named called in the 2015 draft. However, during the sixth round of the draft, Indianapolis took care of those fears by selecting Robinson.
The Colts are no strangers to drafting Mississippi State running backs, having recently selected Vick Ballard a few seasons ago.
Nicknamed Bowling Ball, Robinson may not stand as the tallest or run as the fastest player on the field, but he finds a way to break through into space and make players miss. He also has speed to turn it up a notch in the open field. Perhaps no play shows some his exciting ability more than this run against Kentucky this year.
Here is another highlight video (embedding has been disabled for the video...sorry).
While it will be interesting to see what type of role Robinson settles into in the NFL, here is a look at his measurables and comparisons. Interestingly enough, and maybe to the fears of Colts fans, he compares to Trent Richardson.
