While some have harped on the number of players Mississippi State has lost since the 2014 season, it appears that at least Phil Steele believes some talented players will be returning to Starkville as he listed three Bulldogs as Preseason All-Americans.
It comes as little surprise that Dak Prescott found his name on the list, but it might be a bit of a surprise that he is listed as a third team selection behind USC's Cody Kessler (1st team) and TCU's Trevone Boykin (2nd team). Michigan State's Connor Cook rounded out the position as a fourth team selection.
On the defensive side, Chris Jones earned third team honors at defensive tackle along with Notre Dame's Sheldon Day. In the SEC, Alabama's A'Shawn Robinson (1st team) and Ole Miss's Robert Nkemdiche (2nd team) also picked up honors at the position.
Will Redmond was named to the fourth team defense as a cornerback.
In all, (See Entire List Here) Alabama led the SEC with five selections. Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU all had four selections. Ole Miss had the most first team offensive selections with two players, and Alabama led the way defensively with two first team selections.
Every team from the SEC West had a selection. In the SEC East, two-time defending division champion, Missouri, Kentucky and Vanderbilt did not have a player selected.
