Chris Jones Named Preseason First-Team All-American By Sporting News

"Mississippi State doesn't have any good players except Dak Prescott." said someone who knows nothing.

Spruce Derden-USA TODAY Sports

Sporting News released their first and second team preseason All-American lists and MSU's Heisman candidate QB was nowhere to be seen. Pay that no mind because MSU's veteran defensive lineman/monster Chris Jones made the cut.

Jones was named a first-team preseason All-American by the publication and they had this to say about him:

"He's a huge lane-clogger and difficult match-up along the interior of the line. Chris Jones demands double teams, otherwise he's in his opponents' backfield."

Through two years with the Bulldogs, Jones has collected 58 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks and he was also named to Phil Steele's All-American team earlier this offseason.
