Few sports have the global reach of golf, and Mississippi State golf coach Clay Homan went global by adding German junior golfer Severin Soller to the Bulldog golf team in a signing announced Monday.
Soller, who turns 20 in December, hails from Munich, and he brings a wealth of experience in international competition with him to Starkville.
In recent action, Soller collected a fourth-place finish in the Hungarian Championships and a 22nd place finish in the Dutch Junior Open.
"The experiences he's had on the international scene will play a major factor in his success here," said Homan, who begins his 13th season at the helm this year. "He's battled against the best in Europe, and he'll bring a competitive fire with him to Mississippi State. I'm looking forward to coaching him and seeing him develop as a player here in the United States."
Soller will be eligible to compete this fall for Mississippi State.
