Mississippi State remained a consensus top 20 college baseball team after USA Today ranked the Bulldogs No. 17 on Thursday. Perfect Game also ranked the diamond dogs No. 17 on January 13. With one more preseason college baseball poll set to come out -- the NCBWA poll next Monday -- MSU's average ranking in the polls is 16. The Collegiate poll had them the highest at 11, and Baseball America the lowest at No. 20. D1Baseball ranked Cohen's club No. 15. Only three weeks remain until first pitch when MSU takes on Florida Atlantic Feb. 19 at Dudy Noble Field.
