Still largely unknown in national recruiting circles, WR Monterio Hunt discussed his recent commitment to the Bulldogs to us.

After a little less than two months after NSD 2016, Coach Dan Mullen and the staff have added another commit for the class of 2017, their 6th so far.

Monterio Hunt, a 3-star WR out of Walnut, MS announced on Monday afternoon that he had made the pledge to play for Coach Mullen and company. Hunt made the announcement public on Twitter:

Hunt chose the Bulldogs over an offer from South Alabama and interest from both Ole Miss and Memphis. When I asked what led him to Starkville, he said that "family tradition, I have 3 relatives that played there and I felt like I was next so I went on and took the opportunity and made the commitment. I informed my man Coach Dan Mullen."

When I asked him about visiting other schools, he mentioned the fact that we may hear about him being at Ole Miss quite frequently over the next several months, but not to worry. His close friend and former teammate, Armani Linton plays for the Rebels and he sees no harm in going up there to support him when given the chance.

Hunt is just the latest example of another in-state prospect that Coach Mullen and the staff realize they can't let get away, and several top in-state targets remain.  Later this week we will take a look at the recent offers the past week, and that will become a weekly feature that will actually go up each Monday throughout the summer as well, Check out Hunt's Jr. season highlights below:
