No. 18 Mississippi State at Arkansas Women’s Softball Series Preview

It will be an SEC showdown, as the Bulldogs square off against the Razorbacks in Fayetteville.

Broadcast Information

This game will be live on SEC network beginning tonight at 7:00 PM ET

Records

Mississippi State: (28-6, 3-3 SEC)

Arkansas: (25-6, 2-4 SEC)

What to Watch For

Holly Ward:

Ward has been on point all year and one of the game’s best. The SEC is by far and away the toughest conference in women’s softball, and Ward has taken over. She is capable of going the distance, as Ward looks to keep the Razorbacks on their heels.

Ward has all the confidence in the world, as she has singlehandedly lifted the Bulldogs multiple times this season. She is the leader of this team and will dictate the pace throughout when called upon. Look for Ward to set the tone and have her way when on the mound.

Mia Davidson:

Davidson was a force to be reckoned with in last week’s 11-0 route of Alabama State. The freshman phenom went 3-3, as she made the most of each at bat. Davidson has shown no signs of slowing down, and is sure to make an immediate impact in the Bulldogs’ three game stint in FaFayetteville.

She is versatile and a complete player who checks every box on the field. Davidson’s future sky high, as she has become one of Mississippi State’s primary faces. She will fill the stat line and most likely take over late throughout the series.

Prediction

In the game’s most difficult conference, the Razorbacks are more than formidable, capable of taking down the Bulldogs. That said, Mississippi State has taken it up a notch. Through depth and an experienced senior class, the Bulldogs will walk out of Fayetteville with three straight wins, and respectable 31-6 record.
